Victor studied journalism at the University of Texas at Austin and began his career as a photojournalist at The Associated Press in 1997. Since then he has been based in several countries: the U.S., Honduras, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and Argentina.

Victor has covered a wide range of assignments, from small human stories to wars and hurricanes. His experience includes historical moments such as the 3,000-kilometer march of Mexico’s Zapatista guerrillas, postwar Afghanistan, a gold rush in the middle of Amazon jungle, the 2012 London Olympic Games, the Pope’s visit to Chile and the 2018 Russia World Cup.

In 2014, he was appointed as a multi-format news director for AP’s Southern Cone countries, based in Buenos Aires, becoming the first photographer in charge of text and television coverage at the agency.

In 2018, Victor moved to Sao Paulo, Brazi, to resume his career as a visual journalist, doing video and photos for the Associated Press.
